Driving Forward: A Note from John Gottschalk, Head of Automotive at Reputation

I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Head of Automotive here at Reputation. With deep roots in the industry and a passion for driving innovation, I’m excited to connect with our customers and partners, and share a bit about why I’ve joined, what I’m seeing in the market, and where we’re headed next.

After more than two decades in automotive–starting at my family’s Ford dealership and spanning roles across retail, OEMs, and emerging tech–one truth has always stayed with me: trust is the engine of this industry. It fuels relationships between customers and brands, between dealers and OEMs, and between teams working toward shared goals.

That’s why I’m excited to join Reputation as Head of Automotive. From FordDirect to LotLinx, and most recently leading global efforts as CRO of Overseas Military Sales Group, I’ve seen firsthand how fast our industry evolves and how essential it is to stay connected to the voice of the customer at every turn.

I’m honored to join the team at Reputation, a company I’ve long admired for its commitment to helping automotive brands harness the power of customer feedback. In an industry where experience drives loyalty and perception drives purchase, our mission is simple: to help OEMs and dealers listen better, respond faster, and turn insight into action. I look forward to building on that foundation.

The Road Ahead: What I’m Seeing in Automotive 

The automotive industry is navigating one of its most dynamic chapters yet. From shifting consumer expectations and economic uncertainty to the rapid emergence of EVs, digital retail, and AI-driven tools, the ground beneath us is constantly moving.

My mission is to ensure we stay in lockstep with these changes. That means continuing to innovate, listen to our dealer and OEM partners, and deliver tools that help you lead.
