Reputation’s Market-Rate Apartment benchmark contributes the data underlying for the Apartment reports and rankings. Reputation uses data from Smart Apartment Data to identify, label, classify and provide updates for these locations within the Market-Rate Apartment benchmark. In order for a property to be eligible for inclusion in Reputation’s Market-Rate benchmark, a location must 1) be partially or wholly a market-rate or “conventional” multifamily; 2) contain 50 or more units; 3) be within Smart Apartment Data’s geographic coverage boundaries; and 4) meet Smart Apartment Data’s other coverage inclusion criteria. Furthermore, for inclusion in Reputation’s reports and rankings, a property management company must operate a minimum of 2,000 units within Reputation’s Market-Rate Apartment benchmark.
