  2. What are “cookies”? A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer. To find out more about cookies and similar technologies, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.
  3. What types of cookies are there?  There are two types of cookies: “session cookies” and “persistent cookies”.  We use both types of cookies.
    1. Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain on your device until you leave a website (i.e. “close the session”). We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate the Site, specifically to track your session ID and to track whether or not you are logged into the Site. Without these cookies, basic functions of our Site would not work. Because these cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the Site and our services, you cannot refuse them.
    2. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a longer period of time and are activated each time you visit a site that uses such cookies. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser’s “help” file. Click here for more information on how to remove persistent cookies.
  4. What Categories Of Cookies Are There? Generally, cookies can be classified into four groups in accordance with their purpose and function:
    • Essential or Necessary Cookies
Essential or necessary cookies (“Essential Cookies”) enable you to navigate on the Site and to use its features. Without these cookies, the services you have requested cannot be provided. They remember which products you want to compare, what is in your shopping basket and/or remember how far you are in the process of a purchase order. They remain on your device until you close your browser session.
    • Functional Cookies
Functional Cookies enable the Site to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. The purpose of these cookies is to provide you with a more personalized experience on our site based on your previous visits and selections. They save you the trouble of typing in your details or preferences every time you access the Site. Functional Cookies may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages.
    • Statistical Cookies
Statistical Cookies help website owners to understand how visitors interact with websites by collecting and reporting information. These cookies collect information about how you use a website, like which pages you visited and which links you clicked on.
    • Marketing Cookies
Marketing Cookies are used to display advertisements that are relevant to specific users, adapted to their interests. They can be used to track the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on third party websites. Many of these cookies will identify you using your IP address, so they may collect some personal information.
  5. What Categories of Cookies do we Use?
    1. We use Essential Cookies.
    2. We use Functional Cookies. We use Functional Cookies to improve the Services we provide to you.  We use cookies to measure your usage of our Sites and track referral data, as well as to occasionally display different versions of content to you. This information helps us to develop and improve our services (it helps us focus on the parts of the service you seem most interested in) and optimize the content we display to you (which may include marketing content).  The functional cookies we use are listed here.
    3. We use Statistical Cookies. In particular, we use cookies from Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). The information collected by Google (including your internet protocol (IP) address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Site, compiling reports on the Site activity and providing further services to us relating to the Site usage. Learn more about Google Analytics’ privacy practices here, and for information on the expiration of these cookies read here. You can prevent your data from being collected by Google Analytics on our Site by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for your current web browser here. The statistical cookies we use are listed here.
    4. We use Marketing Cookies.  We use cookies to market/advertise our services – and only our services — to you.  We, or our service providers and other third parties we work with, place cookies when you visit our Site and other websites or when you open emails that we send you, in order to provide you with more tailored marketing content (about our services or other services), and to evaluate whether this content is useful or effective. For instance, we evaluate which ads are clicked on most often, and whether those clicks lead users to make better use of our tools, features and services. We partner with third parties to manage our advertising on other sites Our third-party partner may use cookies or similar technologies in order to provide you advertising based upon your browsing activities and interests. If you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising click here or if located in the European Union click here. The marketing cookies we use are listed here.
      1.  We partner with a third party advertising technology provider (HubSpot, Marketo and DemandBase) to track information on your browsing history as you surf our Site and then serve targeted display ads to you on other websites. You can learn more here. To opt out of receiving any advertising from these providers, please opt out here or email us at privacy@reputation.com Please note you will continue to receive generic ads.
    5. We set a persistent cookie to store how you came to the Site and what purchase packages and discounts we are able to offer you upon your registration. Persistent cookies also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance their experience on the Site.
  6. What Similar Technologies Do We Use?
    1. We employ and our third-party advertising partners (such as Marketo or HubSpot) employ a software technology called “clear gifs” (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that helps us better manage content on the Site by informing us what content is effective. “Clear gifs” are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies and are used to learn about the interactions of our users with the Site and our outbound emails. A “script” is a piece of program code that is used to make our website function properly and interactively. This code is executed on our server or on your device. A “web beacon” (or a pixel tag) is a small, invisible piece of text or image on a website that is used to monitor traffic on a website. In order to do this, various data about you is stored using web beacons.

In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our website visitors Personal Data. We use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails recipients have opened. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns.
