2 Real-World Results of Effective Business Listings Management

Business listings are a critical part of an effective online reputation management strategy. Accurate and consistent listings improve search engine results and help patients find you faster.

The impact of better business listings management can have a profound impact on many facets of your company. To learn more, here are two examples of health care companies that generated real-world results with effective business listings management.

1. Rapid Growth Meant Muddied Healthcare Listings

Hackensack Meridian Health is a New Jersey non-profit hospital network. The $5.5 billion health care network is the state’s largest, with 16 hospitals, 4,250 inpatient beds and 6,500 affiliated physicians.

The company wanted to attract new patients, especially given its proximity to the highly competitive health care markets in New York City and Philadelphia. Hackensack Meridian providers were facing challenges in attracting new patients due to the lack of a strong presence in search results and on review sites.

The network’s vice president of strategic marketing, Ryan Younger, noted the company was “muddling through” cleaning up physician and location business listings, which had become scattered due to rapid growth and acquisitions. Fixing those listings without leveraging technology would be “a nearly impossible task,” Younger said.

The solution was to partner with Reputation.com to maintain Hackensack Meridian’s business listings, location information and physician data, all of which feed into a find-a-doctor tool on the network’s website. Reputation.com’s solution ensures that any changes are accurate and quickly propagated across the web. Accurate, complete and consistent business listings are an important factor for better local search rankings.

The responses were dramatic. In the first five months of 2018, Hackensack Meridian saw dramatic increases in key business results compared to all of 2017, including listing views (243%), phone calls (269%), driving directions (320%) and website visits (206%). In addition, since using Reputation.com, the business saw a 170% increase in review volume, and its average star rating increase from 3.8 to 4.4 stars.

2. California Healthcare Company Looking for Long-Term Relationships

Sutter Health, located in northern California, is the eight largest healthcare company in the United States. The non-profit organization has more than 14,000 affiliated physicians and 30 affiliated hospitals.

The company realized it needed better solutions to meet its primary goal: Improving the patient experience. Sutter Health sought to go beyond the office visit and be a part of patients’ continued journey.

However, the company realized some of its online engagement strategies were not working. Its business listings were inconsistent and no one was responding to or using the data in 1000s of patient reviews left annually.

To acquire new patients and gain existing ones, Sutter Health turned to Reputation.com.

“Reputation.com provides a competitive advantage for us because it allows us to listen to what our patients are saying but also allows us to take action,” said Nolan Perry, head of reputation and engagement.

Using the Reputation.com platform, the company last year improved the accuracy of its business listings from less than 57% to more than 80%. It also responded to 5,000 reviews. Watch this video to hear the full story.

The impact of more accurate listings and responsiveness? A 76% increase in profile page visits, driving increases in views, click-throughs, booked appointments and selection of network doctors.
