Online identity and privacy protector said on Wednesday it has acquired password startup MySocialCloud. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Redwood City-based, led by CEO and founder Michael Fertik, plans to add MySocialCloud’s to its “data vault,” a product that gives customers greater control over what happens to their online data.

Los Angeles-based MySocialCloud was founded in 2011 by brother and sister Scott Ferreira, 22, and Stacey Ferreira, 20, and Shiv Prakash, 27. It raised more than $1 million in seed funds from Richard Branson and Insight Venture Partners’ Jerry Murdock — who also backed, former Photobucket CEO Alex Welch and others.

The startup’s technology simplifies the login and username process, letting users to install a ‘Cloud It’ button on their browsers that can be used to auto login to any website.

This is’s third acquisition this year after buying Seattle-based snail mail filter startup PaperKarma and U.K.-based Reputation 24/7 earlier in 2013.

The company has raised about $68 million and in addition to Insight is backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Bessemer Venture Partners, August Capital, Jafco Ventures, Manatt Venture Fund and Lucas Venture Group.
