Exercise 1: Create a Post

21 STEPS

1. Let's schedule a post on Facebook and Instagram for next month. Click Create New

2. Click Social Post

3. First, we'll select where to publish our post to. Click Facebook

4. Click Instagram

5. Since we only manage one location, it's pre-populated in the Select Locations section.

6. Next, we'll compose our post. Type your post idea in the box.

7. Now let's add an image to our post. Click Select from Asset Library

8. Since our post is about children's eye heath, let's use the image of the baby in sunglasses. Click the circle to select this image.

9. Click Add

10. On the right, we can preview our post for Facebook. Looks good!

11. We can also preview our Instagram post. Since different sources have different requirements, it's best practice to preview your posts before publishing.

12. Since August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month, let's schedule this post to publish later. Click the arrow next to Publish Now.

13. Click Publish Later

14. Click the publish date to change it.

15. Click Next Month (>)

16. Click Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022

17. Click Save

18. We can see our publish date updated to August 3rd. Now click Publish Later

19. Review the publishing details and click Done

20. To view the post on our Calendar, click the arrow (>) to view August's posts.

21. Here's the post we just made! You can click in to view details and make edits prior to the publishing date.

Exercise 2: Exploring Social Metrics

11 STEPS

1. Let's explore metrics for our social posts. From the Social Suite menu, click Metrics

2. Toggle between the different social sites at the top of the page to view metrics by source.

We'll stick with Facebook.

3. In the Posts chart, you can see how many posts were made each day. Let's zoom in on the end of May, beginning of June section.

4. Draw a square to zoom in on the highlighted section. Click your mouse and drag and drop a box over the highlighted section.

5. Let's explore the posts on June 9th. Click June 9th.

6. Let's sort our posts. Click Sort By

7. Posts can be sorted by Reach, Shares, Likes, Comments, Clicks, and Engaged. Click Reach

8. Here we can see specific metrics for our our post.

9. Click Locations to view metrics broken out by location.

10. We only have one location, but if you published this post to multiple locations, you would see metrics for each location here.

11. Understanding which types of posts perform well with your social audience is helpful when planning your social media strategy, which could be different across each source.
